Paul and Jackie's Brighton Town Hall and The Coach House Wedding
Brighton Wedding Photography
On the 10th of September off I went to photograph Paul and Jackie’s Brighton Town Hall and The Coach House Wedding. The couple has been living in Hove for a bit and they were quite keen on a relaxed city wedding. They wanted to keep things simple, without too many formalities. All they cared about was to get married and make sure their family and friends were having fun.
Just before the ceremony I joined the Groom and the guest at the Mesmerist pub. This is where everyone was gathering for a pint or two to calm the nerves. The pub was literally round the corner from the the Grade 1 listed Brighton Town Hall, where Paul and Jackie were about to get married. I have to say it was rather handy to be able to walk from one place to another without worrying about transport and parking. The later is without the doubt at premium in Brighton! Consequently there was no worries about being late either!
With limited space in the Brighton Town Hall, the guests split into two groups. The first one with the closest family and friends attended the ceremony in the Brighton Town Hall. The second one, with those guests, who couldn't squeeze in moved to the reception venue at the Coach House Brighton, where they could watch the wedding ceremony streamed live! I thought that was a brilliant idea. You have to love technology!
After the ceremony and an abundance of confetti the newlyweds and their guests took the short walk to join the rest of the wedding party at the Coach House Brighton. The venue seemed to be a perfect find and equally perfect fit for Paul and Jackie's celebrations. It's a unique, quirky venue, hidden in the old Brighton Lanes, just off the seafront. If you are after an informal party, The Coach House Brighton is the place for you!
The venue greeted the newlyweds with drinks and canapes to start with. After that there was an endless stream of food throughout the night. There was no one going hungry on this wedding!
September this year wasn't kind to my couples when it comes to the weather. There was barely any respite from the rain for the whole day, but we still managed to get a quick portrait session during a rare break capturing some of the quaintness of the Lanes.
I have to admit, this has been one of my most adventurous weddings to date. It is not every day I am taking the group photos from the middle of the road and up a slippery ladder. Have I mentioned the pouring rain?:) No where I would rather be!
Finally let me say- congratulations Paul and Jackie! You ticked every box of what makes the wedding great! It was a fantastic day with relaxed, laid back atmosphere, enjoyed by all!
