At the start of April I had the honour to photograph Matt and Suzanne’s wedding at Rockingham Castle in Northamptonshire. When the Bride asked me to photograph her wedding I was very excited! Not only because Suzanne is my friend, but also because she absolutely spoilt me with photographic opportunities!

Suzanne is a person, who does everything in style!  Grand style that is. Needless to say her wedding was just that- grand, beautiful and elegant!

The Bride started the Big Day at totally amazing Ruston Hall Hotel and Spa. The minute you step into this place you feel special. Rushton Hall  is a magnificent Grade I Listed Four Red Star hotel, with beautiful gardens and endless views of Northamptonshire countryside.  It's one of the most romantic venues I have visited so far.  Gorgeous surroundings and lush interiors make Rushton Hall an ideal place for your wedding celebrations! Suzanne was getting ready at the Bride's suite, called The Oak Bed Chamber. It was a beautiful, luxurious room with an amazing light that was perfect for photography.

The ceremony and reception took place at Rockingham Castle. This impressive royal fortress was truly tremendous with it's historic background, amazing grounds and sweeping views over five counties.

The forecast wasn't too promising for the day.  Therefore after the ceremony I decided not to waste a minute of the dry weather and took the newlyweds out for a short portrait session. I have to say I really like this part of the day. It's one of those moments during the wedding day, when the couple can enjoy a few moments with just the two of them. We took a walk round the gardens surrounding the Rockingham Castle to capture a few portraits. We managed to find one cherry tree that was in bloom, but incorporating it into pictures was rather muddy, messy business!
